Ofelia Negra - In A New York Minute
In A New York Minute
When PI Chasity Macintosh goes missing in New York's Chinatown, the CSI's of the NYPD learn that there's more at stake than meets the eye... but, can they find her before it's too late?
“Now, you’re going to behave real nice for me, aren’t you?” he said with a snarl to his voice. “No tricks, no trying to run…”
The woman said nothing. She merely hung her head.
“I’ll take that as a ‘yes’,” Monet said, cutting the cords that held her to the chair. “Watch her,” he said as he leaned in to unlock the cuffs around her ankles—the ones that were still usable.
Chasity knew she should try to fight back, but she didn’t move a muscle. I’ve only got one chance at this, she said, and I’m running on empty. As she was unbound, she gave her captors the illusion that there was no more fight left in her, when the idea was as far from the truth as one could get.
Satisfied that the woman would cooperate, Monet pressed the barrel of his new gun into her back. “Try and run,” he goaded. “Buyer or no buyer, it’ll be the last move you make.”
