We are currently aware of an issue with the text-to-speech functionality, which effects our Android users.
The language of the eBook is not always auto-detected, so you need to manually select the language in which the app will read the eBook via the Settings button in the TTS menu in the app.
We have detected an issue that effects PDF files in Japanese. This language is not always correctly detected and as a result, the app displays empty pages in such eBooks.
We are working to determine the reason for the issue and to resolve the problem.
What is Media365?
Media365 is an online platform for eBooks aimed at self-publishing authors, publishers and readers. It is our intention to help promote new up-and-coming authors by connecting them with an eager audience. Authors and publishers can upload their (copyrighted) eBooks, make them accessible to the whole Media365 community and earn money from them. Readers enjoy the eBooks for free, while the platform displays ads in the content in order to generate income for the authors/publishers. (This is very similar to YouTube.)
How can I read Media365 eBooks?
You can read Media365 eBooks directly on your device via the mobile applications for iOS and Android. You can browse the eBook catalog on the website, but you cannot read an eBook directly frоm the site. You need to install the iOS or Android app on your mobile device and read frоm there.
How can I read my own eBooks with the Media365 Book Reader?
You can import all your eBooks from your device to your Media365 Library to sort, arrange in folders and customize the reading experience. Simply tap on the (+) sign and navigate to the eBooks you would like to import.
Can I read eBooks offline?
You need to be online to read Media365 eBooks, similarly to YouTube videos, which can only be viewed online. We need internet to display ads and generate income for local up-and-coming authors who have shared their eBooks with the Media365 community. Of course, you can still read your locally stored eBooks on your own device while you are offline.
What does the premium package contain?
Our premium package, available within the Media365 Book Reader app for Android, offers the following features:
Ad-free reading is not applicable for Media365 books – we show ads within these books to generate profit for our authors and publishers, who share their content with you for free.
Why do I still see ads although I am a premium user?
Premium users enjoy the paid features of the Android app - text-to-speech, conversions from over 50 eBook formats, eBook password protection and shortcuts to eBooks. However, the ads that are displayed within Media365 eBooks are not removed. Revenue generated by ads in Media365 eBooks is necessary to generate income for local up-and-coming authors who have shared their eBooks with the community. Thus, Media365 eBooks always contain ads.
Can I listen to eBooks with the Media365 Book Reader for Android?
The app offers a text-to-speech (TTS) feature with adjustable settings for volume and speed. It is a Premium feature, which is available only for eBooks in EPUB format. Please note that you need to manually select the language in which the app will read the eBook via the Settings button in the TTS menu in the app.
What eBook formats can I read via the Media365 Book Reader?
Our app supports PDF and EPUB eBook formats natively. Furthermore, you can convert over 50 different eBook formats and read them with the Media365 Book Reader. Please note this is a Premium feature.
I can't open and read DRM eBooks anymore. Why?
We do not support DRM eBooks anymore, due to licensing issues with the Adobe library. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about that and we had to remove this feature from the book reader app.
I am a publisher or self-publishing author. How can I publish my eBook(s) to Media365?
You can upload your eBooks either via the Media365 Publishing Portal or via the Android app. Please note that eBook management, monitoring (downloads, reads, etc.) and monetization tracking are available only in the Publisher Portal.
What eBook formats can I upload to the Media365 platform?
You can upload EPUB or PDF files. Please note that we highly recommend uploading EPUB files, because this eBook format allows for a better reading experience for your readers.
How can I convert my Word document into an EPUB?
You can convert your eBook frоm a Word document into an EPUB using Calibre. Install Calibre on your computer, add the eBook in the virtual library and convert it to EPUB. Please make sure you prepare your text document in advance and format the chapters, titles and headings, using the Styles of Word. After you import your eBook in Calibre and proceed with the conversion, go through all available settings to adjust the eBook cover and its content. For more details, please review this page.
Alternatively, you can email us your original eBook file (e.g. RTF, DOC, DOCX) and we will convert it for you. Please note that the process will take a few business days and this service is not free. The cost depends on how time-consuming it will be to format and convert your eBook(s). After we receive the files, we will contact you and provide a quote.
Who owns the rights to the eBooks I upload to Media365?
You remain the owner of any and all rights to the eBooks you upload. Please familiarize yourself with the Media365 Content Guidelines before uploading content.
I have uploaded my eBook, but it does not show up in the Media365 catalog. Why?
The Media365 catalog or the Discovery section on the platform, where readers can browse for eBooks within different categories and in different languges, only displays eBooks uploaded by verified publishers. If you already are a verified publisher, please make sure that you are looking for your eBook in the correct language.
How can I become a verified publisher?
To become a verified publisher, please contact our team at: email@example.com and provide proof that you are the legal rights holder of the content you have uploaded and want to publish to the Media365 community. This can be done by either showing that you are listed as the author/publisher in the actual eBook or by providing other evidence, such as Facebook pages, Instagram accounts, websites, drafts, contracts, etc.
When do I start earning money from my published eBooks?
First, your eBooks need readers. After having accumulated readers and having earned at least 100 USD, your earning will be transferred to your PayPal account on a monthly basis. (You need to fill in your PayPal account in the Media365 Publisher portal.) Please note that you will need to verify yourself as a publisher before receiving any payouts.
What should I do if I have identified illegal content?
We work hard to identify and take down illegal or pirated content and protect the real rights owners. However, sometimes pirated content can slip through our fingers and be published on our platform. You can report such content by sending us an e-mail. Our takedown notice procedure can be found here.
If you have any other questions or concerns related to the Media365 platform, please do not hesitate to contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We would be happy to assist you and improve your user experience.
