As a child, he grew up on a kibbutz, where he enjoyed the freedom to pursue his curiosity and develop a deep love for nature, open landscapes, and discovery.Later in life, he studied introductory archaeology at the Open University of Israel and Land of Israel Studies at the Avshalom Institute. There, he participated in a workshop led by the late Zvi Ilan, who nicknamed him "One-Eyed Itzik" in recognition of his exceptional ability to uncover archaeological finds during surveys and excavations, including at the ancient Meroth Synagogue.In recent years, Yitzhak has also developed a passion for photography and presented a photography exhibition titled "I Have Butterflies—and More—in My Mind."
