Secrets of a Jobnik

From officer training to suffocating bureaucracy, from absurd military logic to moments of unexpected brotherhood, Secrets of a Jobnik reveals the side of army life no one romanticizes — and no one explains. This is not a war story. It’s a story about identity, masculinity, power, loneliness, and what happens when eighteen-year-olds are handed responsibility before they understand who they are.Fast-paced, honest, and unfiltered, this memoir pulls back the curtain on a system that shapes a nation — and leaves its mark long after the uniform comes off.Itay Dafan holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and is currently a Computer Science student. His military service in the Israel Defense Forces exposed him to the social and psychological complexities of compulsory military life in Israel — an experience that shaped his perspective on leadership, identity, and adulthood.Secrets of a Jobnik is his debut memoir.
