Indeed, his diary reveals a complex and surprising personality to Chief Inspector Morel, recounting his religious doubts and his decision to radically change his way of life. To uncover the culprit, Morel (a former French counter-intelligence officer) must consult the Foreign Legion archives, fly to Kigali, Rwanda, and investigate those responsible for the 1994 genocide, some of whom the former missionary had known personally.
